Don't forget to thank Mother Nature this Thanksgiving!
Reduce Food Waste
Tons of food will be scraped into the garbage on Thanksgiving. Start with smaller portions to reduce waste and compost what you can.
Repurpose
One of the best parts of Thanksgiving is the leftovers. Store in reusable containers, and try making a delicious stock for soups, chilis, and stews with leftover turkey.
Go Natural
Decorate with nature: pine branches, pinecones, acorns, & colorful leaves. They add fragrant beauty to your table and can be returned to nature when done.
Recycle
Keep a bin handy for glass, plastic and paper trash you can recycle rather than toss. Aluminum trays used for baking the turkey are recyclable provided you clean them first.
Shop Local
Try shopping at a farmer’s market. Local foods require fewer greenhouse gases to get to you and are usually grown on smaller farms using more sustainable practices.
Use Reuseable
Set the table with reusable dishes and cloth napkins. If single-use is a must, purchase place settings made from recycled or compostable materials.
